Hi all,

This is the current deck I’m playing online and looking to make this my first physical deck as I have about half the cards already through theme decks we got for my step son. And the remaining ones are fairly cheap so it will be a good starting point for me.

  1. I am looking to introduce Remoraid/Octillery so should I cut out the Magikarp/Gyrados line? Should I scrap the Oranguru also?
  2. Any trainer changes I should make?
  3. Is it OK to introduce another double colorless energy? I find myself in a lot of situations in game when I need one.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated as I am putting together a shopping list now.

Regards,

Stick in at least 3 brooklet hill
I’ll look at it fully later

Some changes, but this will make this a tonne more consistent, you can drop a trainer when you make it IRL with lele too, the extra manaphy and glaceon won’t break your bank either.

i can give you some of the cards

use the baby ninetales to stall and to win if theyre using a fire gx deck

use glaceon to hit the guys who are evolved and stall
use barbaracle with the brooklet hills to stop them using special energy

manaphy to heal

discard water energy with the ultra balls and fish/patch it back out

Thanks Gav, I will review later and see what I can trade for online.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have made some changes to get closer to what you have suggested, where I lack the cards I have substituted Pokemon and trainers with alternatives available to me.

Are the splash energy I decided to add a bad idea?

While the Barbaracle line is working well to deny DCE in games, I am hoping to trade for Octillery and remove 1 Barbaracle or both.

I made these changes to the deck for the following reasons:

  • I never seem to play more than 2 Brooklet Hills in a game, let alone 4.
  • Needing Guzma more in games for picks on opponent’s bench.
  • 2xDCE adds tempo, trade off is the risk of opponent discarding it and no retrieval or not being able to play it.
  • I struggle in late game when close to milling out, Brock’s Grit helps with energy once patches have been used up.
  • I rarely get to make use of Manaphy’s attack in late game to try and heal the bench, so put in 1 Lana. Considering changing for a second Acerola though - thoughts?
  • While good when drawing dead, I find Sycamore to be such a double edged sword. Might cut a DCE and add another Sycamore, will see how games go.
  • I never seem to need 4 Ultra Balls a game, just like Brooklet Hill I tend to only play 2, sometimes 3.

Try replacing Sycamore with Cynthia on Friday when the new set is out

Remember when cutting key cards you may not use them but you are eliminating your chances of pulling them.
